Newquay Town Council has a vacancy for Part Time Lockup Operative. This role will be primarily responsible for inspecting, cleaning and securing all Council owned public toilets and other Town Council premises, ensuring all access points are locked in line with the operating hours and all security and alarm systems are functioning correctly. This role is seasonal between the months of April - September. It is vital the Public Toilets and other Town Council owned properties in and around Newquay are safe, clean and fit for the level of usage they have and locked securely overnight to prevent damage/vandalism.
The role will be required to work evenings on a rota basis, cleaning and locking down securely each public toilet. This role will involve cleaning of public toilets to support the Facilities Operatives during the busy summer period. The role will also be lone working however will have the contact of the Deputy Estates Manager whilst on duty. The Council is open to job sharing for this role. Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities:- To inspect and secure all Town Council premises ensuring all access points are locked in line with the operating hours and all security and alarm systems are functioning correctly.
- To carry out an end of operation clean of public toilets where possible, in line with local cleaning schedules and ensuring high quality standards are being maintained.
- To act as a keyholder for Town Council assets and premises and respond to any alarms of emergencies and undertaking an initial investigation. This may include responding out of hours.
- Ensure that any risks/concerns identified are escalated within a timely manner to the Facilities Manager so that any necessary arrangements can be made.
- Assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of the Town's public facilities and open spaces.
- Ensure that, when relevant, the Town Council's facilities and buildings are opened, safe and accessible to the general public.
- Undertake other duties that may be required from time to time within the general scope of the post.
This role will close once the successful candidate has been appointed. The Council may not accept CVs without a completed application form.
