Mayfield Residential Home is hiring an experienced Senior Care Assistant to work Day and Night Shifts. Part and Full Time Various shift patterns to cover, including evenings and weekends – can also include Night Shift Work. An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Care Assistant to join our residential home in Newport, South Wales. Our ethos is to be professional, hard-working, client led and fun. A happy atmosphere is promoted by the Management, as this adds to the home’s environment.

JOB PURPOSE

  • To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the Clients using a person-centred approach.
  • To observe and promote the Client’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights.
  • To actively support other Care Workers.
  • To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and Mayfield’s policies, procedures and guidelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Care provision
    • To provide personal care and support to Clients with a wide range of needs, illnesses and disabilities.
    • To assist Clients getting up in the morning and going to bed at night.
    • To assist Clients to wash, bath and shower.
    • To assist Clients to dress and undress.
    • To assist Clients to look after their skin, teeth, hair and nails.
    • To assist Clients with toileting, continence management and personal hygiene.
    • To assist Clients with their medication.
    • To prepare food and drink for the Client.
    • To provide light general household domestic duties, including laundry, as detailed in the care plan or instructed by Management.
  • Recording and Reporting
    • To maintain detailed accurate records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken.
    • To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the Client and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it.
  • General
    • To dress appropriately, wearing uniform and using personal protective equipment provided.
    • To attend in house and external training pertinent to the role of Care Assistant.
    • Any other duties requested by Senior Management, which are within the scope of the post.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a Care Assistant is desirable but not essential since all training needs will be provided for you.
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care Desirable or willing to work towards a Qualification.
  • Appointment to this position will be subject to a successful DBS check.

Job Types: Permanent, Part-time, Full-time

Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule: 10 hour shift, 12 hour shift, 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday, Night shift, Weekend availability

Work Location: In person
