Waterman Grille is looking for a Catering Cook to join the team. Inside a historic 1871 gatehouse perched over the Seekonk River, the Waterman Grille presents a vibrant culinary experience on Providence’s East Side. Our cooking philosophy is inspired by the seasons, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients, with lively flavors and techniques emboldened by the embers of our wood-fired grill.
About the Position
In the Catering Cook role, you will prepare, season, and cook food for banquet service.
About You
You are passionate about food. You have a strong sense of urgency, great organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the work area and equipment, in a clean and sanitary condition
- Have thorough knowledge of menus and the preparation required, according to established standards
- Prepare food for Banquets, following specifications on Banquet Event Orders
- Breakdown banquets and plated meals, storing food and equipment properly at the end of event
- Work banquet food station as scheduled by the catering chef
Qualifications
- Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
- Prior experience a plus but not required
Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds
- Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships
