Our Cleaning Operatives play a vital role in ensuring our venues are clean, tidy and safe to use for all of our colleagues, members, customers and visitors. We currently have opportunities for a variety of part-time hours across our venues in the City Centre and at Newport International Sports Village.
Hours, Pay and Benefits
- Hours: We have a variety of part-time hours available, covering the operational hours of our venues. Shifts are available for early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We will work with you to create a rota that works for you and for us, and there will also be the opportunity for additional hours for shift cover.
- Pay: Real Living Wage (currently £12.60 per hour)
- Benefits: 33 days leave per year (including Bank Holiday entitlement) - pro rata for part time colleagues, free Newport Live membership, generous pension scheme available, cafe discount, free onsite parking at most sites, uniform provided and access to wellbeing programmes.

Role Requirements
Main duties include:
- Working to a cleaning schedule in accordance with operating procedures to clean all venue areas to a high standard
- Immediately report any defects or issues in the venue or with the equipment to the Cleaning Supervisor or Duty Manager / Leisure Operations Officer on duty
- Observe all regulations related to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).
- Undergo all relevant and required training
Our venues rely on the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene, so taking pride in your work is a must. This can be a demanding, physical role, and can be challenging during busy periods.
