Newport City Council, supported by a three‑year grant from National Trading Standards, is establishing a new Intellectual Property Investigations Team commencing 1 April 2026. This specialist team will lead civil, criminal and financial investigations into intellectual property crime across England and Wales. This is a unique opportunity to shape a national enforcement team and make a real impact in protecting consumers and businesses. You’ll be part of a forward‑thinking council committed to innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex civil, criminal and financial investigations into intellectual property breaches.
  • Mentor staff to deliver high‑quality enforcement outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across public and private sectors.
  • Travel across England and Wales and work flexibly, including occasional out‑of‑hours duties is required.

This post is a three‑year fixed term contract.
