St Julian's School is a large, inclusive secondary school in Newport, educating around 1,500 students aged 11-18. We strive to be a school for all where everyone succeeds, underpinned by our values of respect, inclusion, collaboration and ambition.
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated professional to lead the business operations of our school. This is a key role on our Senior Leadership Team, responsible for finance, human resources, and strategic resources, as well as supporting the wider strategic direction of the school.
About the roleYou’ll take the lead on financial planning and management, ensuring resources are used effectively to support learning and school improvement. You’ll manage the business support team and work closely with the Headteacher and other leaders to deliver strategic change.
What we’re looking for- A degree‑level qualification (or equivalent experience) in finance, business management or accountancy
- Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and driving organisational change
- Extensive knowledge of financial planning and managing large budgets, ideally within an education setting
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to prepare business cases and influence strategic decisions
