Pillgwenlly Primary School is a large, diverse primary school in Newport City. The school has a brand new building and benefits from high quality learning spaces such as a large outdoor space including a 4G pitch. The Headteacher and Governing Body are looking for an experienced teacher who is able to provide a nurturing approach to high quality provision with high levels of expertise in teaching and learning. We are looking for experience within Wales with a clear understanding of the principles of A Curriculum for Wales and knowledge of the current ALN system in Wales. We are seeking a professional who understands child development and how to create a highly stimulating curriculum to meet the needs of all of our pupils. We want a teacher who strives for the best for pupils who will be able to contribute to the aims of the school which are Respect, Equity, Excellence.
The post will commence on 1st September and is offered on a permanent basis. We are seeking an excellent practitioner who has:
- Significant expertise in teaching and learning either from Nursery - Year 2 or from Year 3-6
- The ability to demonstrate high levels of impact on learning for pupils through excellent teaching
- Total dedication to the inclusion of all pupils with knowledge of a range of strategies to support pupils with additional learning needs
- High expectations of learning and behaviour for all pupils and is able to plan for individual needs
- Digitally competent with excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
The appointment process will involve a lesson observation, following which successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview with the Headteacher, governors and members of the SLT. Further details are available from the Executive Head Teacher, Mrs Cueto. This position is not suitable for NQTs.
