An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, detailed orientated and self-motivated skilled professional to join the Financial Accounts Team as a Lead Finance Business Partner -Financial Accountant.
Reporting to the Chief Accountant and working alongside the Lead Finance Business Partner Capital Accountant, the Financial Accountant will support the Council with preparation of the statutory financial statements, providing advice and scrutiny to ensure processes/tasks are completed consistently and in line with the operating model in place across the Council and to support the Chief Accountant.
The ideal candidate will be highly numerate and literate and be qualified.
Experience of preparing statutory financial statements and liaising with external and internal auditors is essential.
The post holder will require the ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
The post holder will work from home and the Civic Centre and occasional travel will be required to sites in and around the Newport area.
