Newport & Carisbrooke Town Council is seeking an enthusiastic and practical Green Spaces Officer to help manage and improve a diverse range of community green spaces across the Isle of Wight.
This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for recreation grounds, allotments, play areas and open spaces. You will be the first point of contact for allotment holders, undertaking site inspections, helping to resolve issues, monitoring plot standards and supporting the ongoing management and improvement of allotment sites. Working alongside the Council’s maintenance team, you will also identify maintenance needs, coordinate repairs and improvements, monitor contractors and support environmental enhancement projects.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring Council-owned sites remain safe, welcoming and well maintained for residents and visitors. You will work with volunteers, community groups and local partners to support biodiversity initiatives, planting schemes and wider environmental improvements.
Applicants should have experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, parks management, facilities or a similar outdoor environment. A full UK driving licence is required.
