With a growing network of specialist clinics across the UK, we’re on a mission to make world-class eye care more accessible for everyone - and we’re expanding rapidly. We’re proud to be officially certified as a Great Place to Work, based on independent feedback from our colleagues. This recognition reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive, collaborative, and empowering workplace where people can thrive.

Our Next Role: Referral Lead

As Referral Lead, you will be the primary link between Newmedica Bristol and our external referrers. You’ll be highly visible within the community, building trusted relationships with optometrists, GPs, referral centres and Local Optical Committees (LOCs) to promote Newmedica services and grow both NHS and private referrals. This is a varied, field-based role combining relationship management, data-driven planning, marketing collaboration, and event delivery. You’ll play a key role in shaping referral engagement strategies that support sustainable service growth across multiple territories.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the main point of contact for external referrers, building strong and effective relationships across your designated territories
  • Develop and deliver referral engagement plans in collaboration with OJV Partners, Heads of Service, and the Marketing team
  • Drive growth in NHS and private referrals in line with agreed KPIs, with a strong focus on cataract referrals
  • Analyse referral data (using tools such as PowerBI) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for targeted engagement
  • Promote Newmedica pathways, referral processes, indicative wait times (IWT) and referral-to-treatment times (RTT)
  • Plan and deliver meetings, seminars, CPD events, and attend regional and national optical events
  • Act as a two-way communication conduit between referrers and Newmedica, resolving issues where possible and escalating when needed

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who’s not only organized and efficient but also passionate about people and service. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Experience working in an optical or ophthalmic environment
  • Experience within a multi-site clinical or healthcare setting, with an understanding of the NHS landscape
  • Proven ability to promote services to a large and diverse client base
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience developing plans, working to targets, and presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Confidence analysing and interpreting data to inform decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation, and event-planning skills
  • Confidence presenting to small and large groups and facilitating meetings
  • Full comfort with extensive travel and remote working
  • Good IT skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

What You’ll Get in Return

We know that great people make a great company, so we offer a comprehensive and supportive package, including:

  • Competitive Salary: 32,000 + car allowance
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Enhanced family leave and sick pay
  • Employee Assistance Programme - 24/7 confidential support
  • Perks & Discounts from eyewear to retail savings
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
