Senior Commercial Law Solicitor

Senior Corporate Counsel – Greater London, United Kingdom RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting directly to Senior Managing Director, Knotel and Head of Legal, Newmark with broad range of transactional work • Give legal advice orally and in writing to executives, managers and other employees • Review, negotiate and draft contracts and transactional documentation related to facilities management, project management, and consulting services • Assist with contentious or compliance issues as they arise, including incidents across the business, working towards practical solutions, settlement or dispute strategy where appropriate • Work with the wider business to improve precedents and protocols to manage legal risk efficiently, and produce updates to alert the business of important developments in the law • Close engagement with the commercial team who lead negotiations with landlords and clients, including development and delivery of training on areas of key interest • Provide flexible support to assist the business as it grows and expands into new business lines, including property management services 6 – 8 years of private practice and/or in-house experience • Strong experience to independently negotiate complex contracts and transactions, with a preference to professionals who have experience with commercial contracts and corporate outsourcing (real estate, facilities management, IT or IP) or similar services • Ability to isolate complex legal issues and provide prompt, concise and commercially focused legal advice, while balancing risks and benefits to the Company • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cooperative effort with the overall Newmark legal team.
