Newmark’s Planning & Development team provides commercially driven advice to landowners, investors, developers and occupiers, supporting projects from early strategy and planning through to delivery and disposal. The team is known for its pragmatic, value-focused approach, working closely with colleagues across Newmark’s wider advisory platform to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
Newmark is seeking an Associate-level Development Surveyor to join its growing Planning & Development team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded surveyor to work on a broad range of development and advisory instructions, supporting both investor and occupier clients across the UK.
The role will involve advising on development strategy and viability, preparing development appraisals and reports, contributing to pitches and fee proposals, and supporting best-use and value analysis across a variety of asset classes. You will work closely with colleagues across Planning, Agency, Valuation and Capital Markets, benefiting from Newmark’s integrated advisory platform.
Key responsibilities:- Preparing development appraisals, best-use and viability analysis
- Producing clear, commercially focused development and advisory reports
- Supporting and leading elements of client pitches, fee proposals and presentations
- Advising clients on development strategy, value enhancement and delivery options
- Contributing to business development activity and helping grow client relationships
- Building your personal brand and profile across the market through client exposure and networking
- Working collaboratively with planning, agency and other advisory teams
- MRICS qualified (Not essential)
- Experience in development advisory, planning & development, or a related consultancy role
- Strong financial and appraisal skills, with experience of development modelling and value analysis
- Commercially aware, confident with clients and keen to contribute to business development
- Clear communicator with strong written and presentation skills
- Motivated, collaborative and keen to grow within a market-leading team
