Senior Quantity Surveyor (Fixed Term Contract)

The Opportunity
Our client is a respected and growing property services contractor, delivering planned and reactive maintenance solutions across a diverse portfolio of clients. Renowned for its commitment to quality, professionalism and customer service, the business operates within a fast-paced, contract-driven environment and continues to experience sustained growth.
As a result, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the business on a Fixed Term Contract, providing commercial leadership across multiple projects and supporting the organisation during a key phase of development.
The Role
Reporting into senior management, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of a broad range of maintenance and property services contracts. The successful candidate will take ownership of cost control, contractual compliance and commercial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with client expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project costs, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Producing CVRs, forecasts and commercial performance reports.
- Monitoring budgets, work-in-progress and margin performance.
- Preparing and submitting applications for payment.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations and account settlements.
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
- Supporting the development of robust pricing, reporting and job-costing processes.
- Building effective relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and operational teams.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and commercial controls throughout the project lifecycle.
The Candidate
We are interested in speaking with commercially focused Quantity Surveying professionals who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor position within construction, maintenance, social housing or property services environments.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management capability.
- Experience managing multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
- Sound understanding of JCT and/or NEC contract frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
