The Role
The Project Engineer will be responsible for creating 3D models and 3D/2D drawings for various mechanical systems and equipment. This position involves overseeing CAD Engineers, ensuring designs meet project specifications, and reviewing documentation for compliance. Regular communication with site teams, clients, and suppliers is essential to ensure projects are successfully delivered. The role also includes optimising designs for cost, functionality, and manufacturability, while providing support to CAD Engineers and participating in project stage gate meetings.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in system design, complemented by a relevant engineering degree or equivalent work experience. They should be proficient in 2D and 3D modelling using AutoCAD and Inventor, with strong organisational and leadership skills. The role requires extensive experience in system design, with proficiency in CAD design software and the ability to produce high-quality manufacturing drawings. A solid understanding of design, build, and project delivery methods, along with strong mathematical and analytical skills, is necessary. Additionally, the role demands a strong focus on health and safety, as well as the ability to travel for site visits and attend meetings as required.
