Our client is an established engineering and fabrication business, delivering complex steel structures and engineered solutions into demanding industrial environments. Operating within a project-led manufacturing environment, the company supports projects where accuracy, coordination and buildability are critical to successful delivery. Ongoing development of its design systems has created the requirement to strengthen in-house design capability through the appointment of an experienced Tekla Design Engineer.
The Tekla Design Engineer will be responsible for producing accurate structural steel designs and 3D models using Tekla, supporting fabrication and installation activities across a range of projects. This will include creating and maintaining models and drawings, ensuring design outputs align with project requirements, internal procedures and applicable standards.
Working closely with engineering, estimating and production colleagues, the Tekla Design Engineer will play a central role in delivering coordinated and buildable design solutions. The role will involve managing design information throughout the project lifecycle, resolving technical issues collaboratively and supporting consistent working practices within the engineering function.
Qualifications / Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience producing structural steel designs using Tekla, with a background in fabrication or structural engineering environments. They will be a detail-focused and organised individual, capable of managing multiple design tasks and communicating clearly within a technical team, with a strong understanding of buildability and practical fabrication considerations.
