The Role

The Controls Engineer will take ownership of the design, development, and delivery of automation software for advanced materials handling systems. Spanning the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, the role offers the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver robust, high-performance control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert-level experience with Siemens TIA Portal – this is an essential requirement.
  • Proven track record in automation software or controls system design within industrial or materials handling environments.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial networks, distributed drive technologies, and testing methodologies.
  • Programming experience in languages such as C++, Java, or Python is advantageous.
  • A proactive and organised professional able to work independently and lead projects.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for commissioning and integration (potentially for periods of a few weeks).
