Our client is an established specialist services business operating within the environmental, waste and regulated industrial sectors. The business provides operational, technical and compliance-led services to commercial, public sector and infrastructure-related customers across the UK. With a strong reputation for safe, compliant and cost-effective delivery, the company is now seeking to appoint a Managing Director to support its continued operational and commercial development.

The Managing Director will be responsible for leading a broad, multi-site operational business, ensuring effective delivery across a range of regulated environmental and industrial service activities. Working closely with the senior leadership team, the role will focus on maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, operational control and customer service, while supporting commercial performance across the organisation.

The position will require clear leadership across multiple sites, service lines and functional disciplines. The successful candidate will work with operational, technical and commercial colleagues to strengthen accountability, improve decision-making and ensure consistent delivery across the business. The role will also involve maintaining effective relationships with customers, regulators, public sector bodies, commercial partners and other key external stakeholders.

Candidates will bring proven senior leadership experience gained within a complex operational business, alongside experience of working in a regulated environment where safety, compliance and operational discipline are central to performance. Strong commercial and financial understanding is essential, together with the ability to assess performance using operational, financial and regulatory information. Experience within waste, environmental services, utilities, energy, infrastructure, industrial services or a related regulated sector would be advantageous.
