Our client is a long-established and growing engineering and fabrication business, supplying high-quality manufactured solutions to customers across the UK and Europe. Operating from a modern production facility, the company delivers complex fabricated steelwork and specialist engineered products into technically demanding industrial environments where quality, accuracy and safety are critical. Continued investment and recent growth have created the need to strengthen operational leadership within the business.
The Production Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day fabrication and manufacturing operation, overseeing supervisors, fabricators and production operatives to ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to specification. This includes planning and coordinating production activity, allocating resources effectively and maintaining control of workflow across multiple projects and priorities.
Working closely with engineering and operations colleagues, the Production Manager will play a central role in embedding robust production processes, monitoring performance through KPIs and operational data, and driving continuous improvement across quality, productivity and delivery. The role will also involve maintaining compliance with quality, fabrication and health and safety standards, supporting a well-organised and efficient production environment.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in production or workshop management within an engineering or fabrication setting, with a strong understanding of welding and fabrication processes. They will be a confident and hands-on leader, capable of developing teams, managing performance and communicating effectively across functions. Experience working with production systems, performance metrics and structured improvement initiatives will be highly valued.
