Our client is an established engineering organisation supplying specialist equipment and technical support into regulated manufacturing environments. The business operates within technically demanding production settings where reliability, compliance and operational continuity are critical.
Continued growth in installed equipment and service demand has created the requirement to appoint a Field Service Engineer to support customers across the Midlands region.
The Field Service Engineer will deliver structured preventative maintenance and responsive breakdown support across customer sites within food manufacturing environments, ensuring equipment operates in line with manufacturer standards and downtime is minimised. This will include diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults on automated machinery, restoring operational performance safely and efficiently within high‑pressure production settings. Working autonomously across the Midlands area, the Field Service Engineer will also assist with installation, commissioning and customer support activity where required. The role involves direct customer engagement, clear communication during reactive service situations and the consistent application of professional standards while representing the organisation on site.
The successful candidate will bring proven field service experience within food manufacturing or a comparable FMCG environment, with strong electromechanical fault‑finding capability. They will be methodical, disciplined and safety‑focused, capable of managing documentation, van stock and workload effectively while building strong and professional customer relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically respected engineering organisation operating within demanding production environments. Interested candidates are invited to apply accordingly. All submissions will be reviewed, and suitable candidates will be contacted directly.

How to prepare for a job interview at Newman Stewart Ltd
✨Know Your Stuff

Being able to discuss specific machinery and troubleshooting methods will show that you're not just a candidate, but a knowledgeable professional.
✨Showcase Your Experience
Prepare to share examples from your previous roles where you've successfully managed breakdowns or performed preventative maintenance. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers, making it easy for the interviewer to see how your experience aligns with their needs.
