The Role

  • To work as a Warehouse Operative as part of the despatch team, to manufacture food to written specifications meeting pre-determind quality and safety attributes.
  • Following appropriate training, you will undertake these duties, correctly, safely and efficiently.
  • Always ensuring these duties are completed in line with Company policies, including but not limited to, PPE, Food safety, allergen management, Health and Safety, ‘clean as you go’ and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice, Food safety and allergen procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure you operate ‘clean as you go’ and carry out any other hygiene duties as directed by your Supervisor.
  • To read and understand instruction (written and/or verbal) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) accurately.
  • To ensure that documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Actively work towards a zero level of complaints for your area and work to a ‘Right first time’ policy.
  • To work to Company objectives of minimal waste, maximum efficiency, conserving energy where possible and if appropriate switching machines off when not in use.
  • Ensure correct storage, rotation and movement of raw materials/finished goods
  • Adhere to the correct procedures for Goods In, Transfer and Dispatch
  • Ensure the correct usage of current and future computerised and written stock control and location systems
  • Cooperate with Production and Transport colleagues and Hauliers
  • Adhere to all technical and quality procedures and work instructions of the company and ensure staff are trained and performing relevant procedures and work instructions
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, performing relevant procedures and work instructions
  • Observe site security controls for visitors and food safety and hygiene rules
  • Adhere to recycling and waste disposal procedures
  • Completing inventory checks and updating the system
  • Stock taking
  • To undertake training as required.
  • Be able to work well within a team.
  • Always work safely – consider safety of yourself and others.
  • Achieve a high standard of punctuality and attendance.

The above responsibilities and duties are not exhaustive, as required and directed by your supervisor to accept changes in responsibility or other duties suitable to knowledge or training.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Basic literacy, numeracy and English language skills
  • Computer literate in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel. Experience of using an IT system in a Warehouse environment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Reach truck license is essential. Scissor lift license and counterbalance preferable.
  • Physically fit to operate a FLT and undertake manual handling duties.
  • Flexibility to accommodate stock take (may include mid-week working on occasions)
