The Role
THE ORGANISATION OF NEW PRODUCT SAMPLES FOR MICRO, NUTRITIONAL, ORGANOLEPTIC, CHEMICAL AND SHELF-LIFE ANALYSIS, SHELF LIFE EXTENSIONS, AND UPDATING MIMS DATA BASE WITH ALL NEW PRODUCTS, AND SUPPORT COMPLAINT INVESTIGATIONS BASED ON PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE.
Key Responsibilities
- Collection of finished products from warehouse, factory and freezers.
- Check and record product sample pH, viscosity and shelf life.
- Prepare samples and products for testing externally – Microsearch.
- Prepare samples for shelf life and store retained samples.
- Liaising with colleagues in Production, NPD, Warehouse, Technical, Sales.
- Creating and maintaining effective working relationships with customers.
- Updating external database – Micro search.
- Manage shelf-life extensions and communicate to customers.
- Collect samples for the NPD so they can create QAS’s.
- Support Process function in terms of sample collation and managing retained samples from trials.
- Liaise with Specs and Sales when shelf-life testing has been stopped due to failure.
- Managing data input as part of set up meeting.
- Manage process of review and sign off of completed shelf-life studies with TM or HOT.
- Submit information for the monthly KPI management meeting.
- Support Tech Queries with complaints concerning shelf-life questions.
Person Specification
- Ideally, experience in working in a food production environment.
- The ability to be consistently accurate, demonstrating attention to detail and working to the highest possible standards.
- Strong organisational skills with a good ability to prioritise workload.
- The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- The ability to work to given deadlines, focusing on the tasks required.
- Flexibility around working hours during busy periods.
- A good command of English and good communication skills.
- Competent IT skills, use of MS Office and database input.
- Good communication skills across all levels of the business and with external customers.
Working hours - Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
