The Role

As a Blend Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our blending operations. Working closely with the Blend Shift Manager, you will coordinate shift activities, supervise production operatives, and ensure products are manufactured safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll also take full responsibility for the shift in the absence of the Shift Manager, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate strong leadership and decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

  • People & Leadership: Supervise or lead a team in a production or manufacturing environment, manage holidays, sickness, and absence in line with company policy, train staff on machinery, systems, safety, or hygiene procedures, conduct performance reviews or support staff development, carry out disciplinary procedures when required.
  • Quality & Compliance: Work with quality standards in a manufacturing environment, complete production or quality documentation accurately and on time, manage non‑conformances or customer complaints, write or maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Production Performance: Achieve production targets or meet a production schedule, work closely with Engineering or Maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
  • Sanitation & Safety: Lead or support a safety‑first culture, familiar with risk assessments and safe working procedures, oversee sanitation or deep‑cleaning activities, identify and address hazards on the factory floor.
  • Systems & Documentation: Complete shift paperwork and digital system inputs accurately, use computers for reporting, logging issues, or updating systems, report IT issues through a helpdesk process.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Able to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Reliable, methodical, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Confident working with numbers and basic computer systems.
  • Committed to maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Person Specification

  • Experience in the food industry, ideally FMCG.
  • Knowledge of UNITY systems.
  • Reach truck, counterbalance, or PPT licence.
  • Basic Food Hygiene or basic Health & Safety qualification.
  • Training or coaching experience.

Extra Information

  • Working Hours: day shift – 7am – 7pm (12 hours)
  • Salary: £37,000 per annum plus 18% shift allowance.
  • Closing Date: Monday 13th April 2026 - 9am.
