Newlon Housing Trust, a leading charitable housing association and provider of affordable housing across North and East London, is looking for a skilled Building Surveyor with Project Management expertise to join the Special Projects Team.
Responsibilities
- Manage Latent Defect & Remediation Projects, focusing on external wall defects, fire safety compliance and latent defects.
- Coordinate technical aspects across consultants, contractors and internal teams, ensuring compliance, safety, quality and contractor performance.
- Lead project management for works, overseeing projects from investigation through to completion.
- Support residents during major works programmes, ensuring clear communication and attending occasional out‑of‑hours meetings.
Qualifications
- Degree or NVQ (or equivalent) in Building Surveying, Building Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- Chartered with RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional body, or substantial relevant experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of cladding systems, external wall construction, fire safety standards and Building Regulations.
- Experience administering and tendering public‑sector JCT contracts, project management and contract administration.
- Experience acting in the Client role under CDM Regulations and strong knowledge of building safety and regulatory requirements according to Part B.
Contract and Compensation
- Salary: £68,309 per annum plus opportunity to earn performance related bonus.
- Contract: Full‑time, permanent.
- 27 days holiday, non‑contributory pension, excellent benefits and a flexi scheme.
