About The Job

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the policy team through the examination of its bold new Local Plan. You will be joining the team at the point of submission to central government for examination, following a 3-year work programme of evidence production, engagement, and policy drafting. You will also be responsible for the planning service’s transport planners, ensuring that climate, safety, and health objectives are embedded in development management decisions.

About You

You will be an experienced planner and manager, confident in providing technical solutions and advice, and capable of leading, innovating, and organizing effectively. The role requires detailed knowledge of planning legislation and national and regional policy, particularly regarding local plan development and examination.
