Job Description

£50,574 – £53,607 per annum

Fixed Term 12 months

London Borough of Newham is seeking an additional Resilience Advisor (PO5) to join the Emergency Planning & Corporate Resilience (EP&CR) Team. This role is initially on a 12-month fixed term contract, with potential for permanency later in the year. The post reports to the Community Safety & Corporate Resilience Manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement emergency plans and conduct exercises.
• Assist with business continuity and resilience standards.
• Support office administration and coordination.
• Manage major and critical incident responses.
• Engage with senior and political stakeholders, including the Council Chief Executive and Mayor.
• Participate in on-call rota and be (re)trained as a Council \’Silver\’ major incident commander.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience in emergency planning and corporate resilience within local/central government and/or emergency services.
• Experience and expertise in counter-terrorism, particularly in protective security for places, premises, and public events, aligned with Martyn\’s Law requirements.
• Relevant qualifications, certifications, or professional memberships in security or resilience fields are highly desirable.
• Ability to engage partners and local communities.
