About Us

Debden House Centre has been owned by the London Borough of Newham since 1947. The site consists of a grade II listed building with cottages, out buildings and 50 acres of land. It is situated approximately 14 miles from Newham, in the Loughton area and within Epping Forest District Council.

The main business of the centre consists of two elements:

  • All year conferencing, training & residential venue
  • Seasonal campsite (operating between May and September).

The site functions as a fully traded service within Children’s & Young People’s Service.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a centre assistant to support the current team in providing a high standard of service to all users of Debden House Conference Centre & Campsite. The role is sessional and the tasks are varied. There is an administrative office based function for both the main house & campsite, alongside an event preparation and organisation element to the role.

Debden House Centre is situated in beautiful surroundings in Loughton, Essex and you would join a team of hardworking, dedicated and ambitious staff.

About You

We are looking for a confident, proactive person with previous experience working in a leisure/customer focused environment. You should be open to learning new ways of working and adding value to the team. You should possess a high standard of teamwork and take pride in your delivery of excellent customer service. Most importantly, you should be adept at working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work collaboratively with staff across the centre. You must be able to liaise with all staff & customers and show commitment to working in a respectful and tolerant way.
