Building Services Officer – Abbey Lane Children’s Centre
Salary £30,288 – £31,611 per annum
Location: Abbey Lane Children’s Centre
This is not a hybrid role – it requires the successful candidate to be present in person in the workplace Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

We’re looking for a hands-on, reliable Building Services Officer to support the day-to-day running of the Abbey Lane Children’s Centre. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for staff and service users.
Key Duties Include:
- Opening/closing the building and managing access
- Fire alarm and compliance checks (weekly/monthly)
- Minor maintenance and repairs (e.g. lighting, blockages)
- Routine building inspections and safety reporting
- Room setup and porterage duties
- Site cleaning, hygiene, and infection control
- Acting as First Aider and Fire Warden
About You:
- Facilities or caretaking experience
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards
- Flexible, practical, and team-oriented
- Willing to work on-site full-time (no hybrid option)
- A clear enhanced DBS check is required
