Building Services Officer – Abbey Lane Children’s Centre

Salary £30,288 – £31,611 per annum

Location: Abbey Lane Children’s Centre

This is not a hybrid role – it requires the successful candidate to be present in person in the workplace Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

We’re looking for a hands-on, reliable Building Services Officer to support the day-to-day running of the Abbey Lane Children’s Centre. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for staff and service users.

Key Duties Include:

  • Opening/closing the building and managing access
  • Fire alarm and compliance checks (weekly/monthly)
  • Minor maintenance and repairs (e.g. lighting, blockages)
  • Routine building inspections and safety reporting
  • Room setup and porterage duties
  • Site cleaning, hygiene, and infection control
  • Acting as First Aider and Fire Warden

About You:

  • Facilities or caretaking experience
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety standards
  • Flexible, practical, and team-oriented
  • Willing to work on-site full-time (no hybrid option)
  • A clear enhanced DBS check is required
