Newham Community Law Project is recruiting a Director of Legal Services to join our newly established organisation as we launch our legal services in summer 2026. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a community-based legal practice from the outset.
Over the coming months we will be applying for Legal Aid contracts and to become a member of the Law Centres Network. We currently have one immigration solicitor and are recruiting a second solicitor and an operations manager.
You will be responsible for managing the team, supervising casework, ensuring compliance with SRA and Legal Aid Agency requirements, and working closely with trustees on strategy, governance and service development.
We are seeking a qualified solicitor with either significant housing or immigration experience, Legal Aid knowledge, and a strong commitment to social justice and access to justice.
Location: East Ham (with some remote working)
Hours: 35 hours per week
