Newham College London, now merged with NewVIc Sixth Form College, is the largest post‑16 education provider in Newham. With campuses in East Ham, Stratford, Plaistow, and the London City Institute of Technology (LCIoT) in Canning Town, we serve over 11,000 students across a range of pathways including 1618 study, adult education, apprenticeships, and higher education. The Role
Lecturer in Health and Social Care (maternity cover until 13th April 2026) – deliver high‑quality teaching and learning across our Health and Social Care programmes (BTEC Levels 15), supporting learners in achieving their full potential. You will play a key role in creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment, acting as a positive role‑model and helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and values needed for further study or employment in the sector.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging teaching and assessment across BTEC Level 15 Health and Social Care courses.
- Support learners to reach their potential, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Act as a positive role model for students.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualifications and/or industry experience in Health and Social Care.
- A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- A strong commitment to inclusive education and supporting learners to succeed.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A flexible and proactive approach to teaching and learning.

Salary and Benefits
Salary is inclusive of London weighting, at the entry point of the advertised salary scale, with potential for higher starting salary based on qualifications and experience. The role is contract.
