We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join our dedicated team on a part-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will support the delivery of youth-focused projects and initiatives aimed at engaging young people, promoting their development, and encouraging positive outcomes. You will work as part of a team to deliver youth programmes, build positive relationships with young people, and help create safe, inclusive, and inspiring environments for those aged 8–18 years. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people within our communities, and will be part of an exciting period of growth as we launch a new youth hub, with this role forming part of the new team helping to shape and develop this provision.

Please note that this role is a part-time, permanent position consisting of 17.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver youth work sessions and activities that engage and support young people.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, fostering trust and encouraging participation.
  • Assist in planning and delivering youth programmes and projects.
  • Support young people in developing life skills, confidence, and resilience.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, schools, and community organisations.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor progress of youth programme participants.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people in a youth work, community, or similar setting.
  • Relevant qualification in youth work, community development, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and best practices.
Benefits:
  • Salary: £31,166 (pro-rata)
  • 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays (pro-rata)

  • You will be working 17.5 hours per week, including evening work. Working arrangements are flexible in line with our Smart working culture. Some out of hours working may be required in line with business needs.
