We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Content Creator & Video Editor to join our team on a two-month fixed-term contract. We’re open to candidates looking for a short-term fixed contract, as well as experienced freelancers who can commit to the full two-month period. This role would suit someone who can quickly embed into a fast-paced agency team, attend client shoot days, direct social-first content capture and deliver high-quality edits at pace.
This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes short-form video, understands what makes content perform on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, and can take ideas from brief to shoot to polished edit quickly and confidently. You’ll be a confident social-first editor and content creator with a strong eye for pacing, storytelling, hooks, captions, sound, trends and platform-native formats. You’ll be comfortable shaping raw footage into scroll-stopping content, adding creative flair through music, transitions, graphics, effects and voiceover, and supporting the wider team with creative ideation and shoot direction.
This role will involve attending client shoot days, helping direct social-first content capture, and ensuring footage is shot in a way that works for the edit. Most content will be phone-shot, so we’re looking for someone who understands how to make mobile-first production feel polished, engaging and platform-native.
What you’ll be doing
- Video Editing & Post-Production
- Edit short-form vertical video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
- Turn raw footage, briefs and creative concepts into engaging, platform-ready edits
- Build strong hooks, pacing, captions, graphics, effects, transitions and sound design into each edit
- Adapt edits for different platforms, audiences and client needs
- Work quickly and confidently across multiple edits, versions and rounds of feedback
- Use social-first editing techniques to improve retention, watch time and engagement
- Work fluently across Adobe Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, with After Effects skills a strong plus
- Edit confidently in CapCut and understand how to use platform-native tools, effects and formats
- Content Creation & Shoot Direction
- Attend shoot days for our clients and support with the capture of social-first video content
- Direct phone-shot content on set, including framing, pacing, movement, transitions and shot structure
- Guide creators, presenters or clients to capture footage that feels natural, engaging and made for social
- Shoot content on mobile when required, with a strong understanding of lighting, framing, sound and composition
- Make creative decisions on shoot days that help strengthen the final edit
- Ensure footage is captured in a way that supports strong hooks, clear storytelling and platform-native editing
- Bring creative ideas to life using music, voiceover, text overlays, effects and social-first formats
- Creative & Ideation
- Contribute social-first ideas rooted in trends, audience insight and platform behaviour
- Help develop mock content, example edits and creative routes for clients, campaigns and pitches
- Keep up to date with emerging formats, memes, audios, editing styles and platform best practice
- Spot opportunities to make content more engaging, reactive or culturally relevant
- Translate creative briefs into content ideas that can be filmed efficiently and edited effectively
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with social media managers, content creators and strategists to bring briefs to life
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients on shoot days to make sure content is captured effectively
- Set a high standard for what good short-form video looks and feels like
- Support junior team members with editing guidance, creative feedback and best practice
- Take feedback well and collaborate efficiently in a fast-paced agency environment
What we’re looking for
- Strong Editing Skills
- You’re highly confident editing short-form video, with a strong understanding of pacing, structure, storytelling, captions, transitions, sound and retention.
- Adobe Suite & CapCut Fluency
- You’re fluent in Adobe Suite, especially Premiere Pro, and confident using CapCut to create fast, platform-native edits. Experience with After Effects, motion graphics, sound design and subtitle workflows is a strong advantage.
- Social-First Shoot Direction
- You understand how to direct social content shoots, especially phone-shot content. You know how to guide talent, structure shots and capture footage that gives the edit the best chance of performing.
- Fixed Term / Freelance Availability
- You’re available for a two-month contract and able to commit to the required shoot days, edit deadlines and team collaboration throughout the contract period. We’re open to both fixed term and freelance arrangements for the right person.
