Financial Controller

Location: Within 5 miles of WD19 5BE

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm (full-time, office-based)

I am currently supporting a well-established and growing organisation in their search for an experienced Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to take ownership of the finance function for a group of three businesses, with a combined revenue of £18 million.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the MD and CFO. This role requires someone who is both strategic and hands-on, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Finance Leadership & Team Management: Oversee and mentor the finance team, ensuring strong performance and collaboration.
2. Cash Flow & Credit Control: Manage financial transactions across the businesses, authorising payments, and liaising with suppliers.
3. Management Accounts & Reporting: Ensure accurate financial reporting, oversee cost centre allocations, and provide insights to senior leadership.
4. Audits & Compliance: Work alongside the CFO on year-end audits and regulatory requirements.
5. HMRC & Tax Responsibilities: Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns, ensuring all tax obligations are met.
6. Payroll & Supplier Payments: Oversee payroll processes and manage supplier relationships.

What We\’re Looking For

1. Qualified Accountant: ACCA or CIMA qualification is essential.
2. Proven Leadership Skills: Previous experience managing a finance team.
3. Hands-On & Proactive: A self-starter who takes full ownership of the finance function.
4. Strong Communicator: Confident in liaising with senior stakeholders and external partners.
5. Calm & Level-Headed: Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a solutions-focused approach.
