Reporting to the Head of Customer Service, this role will involve visiting our customers in their homes to carry out remedial work, occasionally supporting on-site teams as needed. You'll play a key part in maintaining strong relationships with homeowners and contractors, upholding Newett Homes' values while delivering the award-winning service we are known for. With work often carried out in occupied homes, professionalism, respect, and clear communication are essential.
What You'll Get Up To
- Repair: Undertake planned and reactive remedial work with respect to all the trades; carpentry, painting, dry lining etc and any other duties as directed by the Head of Customer Service.
- Undertake the co-ordination of work as required.
- Undertake any inspections of issues as required by the Head of Customer Service.
- If more materials are needed, source them efficiently and with agreement of the Customer Service team, liaising with the Customer Service Coordinator as required.
- Customer Service: Undertake regular customer liaison with customers in their homes, using M Care.
- Undertake regular liaison with the Customer Support Department to ensure they are kept fully up to date.
- Teamwork: Provide support and assistance to other team members.
- Plan and carry out work in a safe, cost effective manner.
- To be aware and observe any opportunity to reduce costs and improve standards and ensure those ideas are shared with your team.
- Account for expenses and produce accounts weekly.
- Health and Safety: Ensure that Health and Safety is followed and site regulations are adhered to.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of NHBC/LABC standards.
- Ensure that a people safety device is worn and charged at all times when visiting clients in their home.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Qualified City & Guilds carpenter or painter.
- Experience of other trades preferred.
- Experience working in occupied homes.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Full and clean driving licence and able to drive a company van.
- Has the ability to remain calm and collected when faced with difficult customers and situations; a high level of personal integrity and respect for others is essential.
- Behaves in an honest and trustworthy manner at all times and can provide clear timescales to the customer.
