The Specialist in Transactional and First Party Fraud is responsible for developing and optimising fraud prevention and detection strategies across NewDay’s products, identifying emerging fraud trends, and enhancing controls to reduce risk while maintaining a strong customer experience. The role applies analytical techniques to improve fraud outcomes, collaborates closely with Fraud Operations, Data Science teams, third‑party vendors, and law enforcement, and supports operational effectiveness. They are accountable for fraud strategy performance and deployment, delivering system and process improvements, and driving initiatives end‑to‑end in a fast‑paced environment, requiring strong technical capability, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to handle complex challenges independently while contributing to a collaborative, forward‑thinking team.
How You’ll Contribute
- Stay ahead of emerging fraud trends by designing smart, data‑led prevention strategies across multiple systems
- Analyse complex datasets to uncover risks and turn insights into effective fraud controls
- Continuously monitor, assess, and optimise existing strategies to improve performance and efficiency
- Lead and support key initiatives with internal teams and external partners to strengthen fraud prevention
- Put customers at the centre of everything, ensuring decisions protect and enhance their experience

- Hands on experience using SQL and Python for data analysis and problem solving
- A self‑starter who can work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of outcomes
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot issues and act on them quickly
- Creative and proactive mindset, always looking for new ways to combat evolving fraud threats
- Confident using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to communicate insights clearly

- Understanding of the payments ecosystem and/or experience working in fraud prevention
- Experience with data science tools (e.g. Python, graph analytics databases)
- Knowledge of credit cards, lending products, or broader financial services
- Familiarity with fraud tools such as Falcon, Featurespace, ThreatMetrix, Outseer, Hunter, or First Vision
- Experience with data visualisation tools like Tableau or Power BI
