What you'll be doing:
- Design, build and evolve platform capabilities used by engineering teams across NewDay.
- Take ownership of complex technical problems, from solution design through to production delivery.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code and champion engineering best practice through code reviews, pairing and mentoring.
- Partner with architects, product teams and fellow engineers to shape scalable, resilient solutions.
- Drive improvements in software quality, operational excellence and developer experience.
- Build and enhance Continuous Delivery pipelines to enable safe, frequent and reliable deployments.
- Contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions across the wider engineering community.
- Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot thoughtfully to improve developer productivity and code quality.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
- Strong proficiency in crafting modern .NET applications using C# 12+ (including .NET 8+ and NuGet).
- Experience designing and working with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Expertise in crafting robust APIs with tools such as ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Carter, or Nancy.
- Experience navigating Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud environments.
- Proven experience with Event-Driven Architecture, designing systems that react in real-time.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Octopus).
- Knowledge of Event-Sourced Systems, building architectures that track every state change.
- Ability to thrive in autonomous, agile environments where daily innovation is the norm.
