We’re looking for a Finance Risk Specialist to join our Enterprise Risk team, partnering closely with our Finance, Treasury and People teams to monitor and strengthen our control environment, challenge ways of working, and provide confidence at senior leadership level. This is a high-impact role where you’ll combine risk insight, control testing, and stakeholder influencing to ensure we operate with strong governance and make informed, risk-based decisions.
How You’ll Contribute
- Risk Partnering
- Act as a trusted risk partner, providing oversight, challenge and guidance on governance, risk and controls.
- Work closely with business functions to proactively shape the control environment as new initiatives are delivered.
- Build strong relationships to influence better decision‑making and to be a trusted advisor on risk and control matters.
- Control Testing & Assurance
- Perform testing of key financial controls in a systematic manner, assessing design adequacy and operational effectiveness, and identifying control gaps and process improvement opportunities.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of the control environment to protect assets, reduce risk, and assure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Contribute to the assurance provided to senior stakeholders, including the CFO and Board Committees.
We’re Looking For These Skills
- Experience in financial risk, controls, audit or assurance (ideally within financial services).
- A strong understanding of control design and control testing frameworks.
- Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and provide credible challenge.
- An accounting background is preferred (part or fully qualified ACA / ACCA) but those with an internal audit background will equally be considered.
- Solid Excel capability (advanced Excel is a plus).
- A proactive mindset — able to identify risks and set out cost‑effective mitigation measures.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate complex matters into practical insight.
