You'll influence technology strategy, partner with senior leaders across Technology and the wider business, and build a modern operational function that enables growth, innovation and resilience.

If you're a people-focused technology leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, developing high-performing teams and creating outstanding service experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Leading Technology Operations across business applications, workplace technology, service management and support functions.
  • Creating a flawless support experience for colleagues and commercial partners through high-performing service desk and operational teams.
  • Driving service availability, performance and operational resilience across New Day's technology estate.
  • Leading major incident management, ensuring calm, effective leadership and clear communication when it matters most.
  • Using data and insight to continuously improve service quality, customer experience and operational performance.
  • Partnering closely with Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security and Change teams to deliver a joined-up technology service.
  • Developing, coaching and empowering diverse teams and strategic partners to achieve their full potential.
  • Providing trusted leadership and operational insight to senior stakeholders, governance forums and executive audiences.

We're particularly interested in hearing from leaders who bring

  • Significant experience leading Technology Operations, IT Service Management, IT Operations or Service Delivery functions within a complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL-based service management, including incident, problem, change and request management.
  • Experience leading service desks, operational support teams and managed service providers.
  • A track record of improving service performance, customer experience and operational resilience.
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications and overseeing the transition of technology into live service.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative leadership style that develops people, fosters accountability and creates an inclusive culture where teams can thrive.
  • Experience within Financial Services, Payments, Cards or another regulated environment would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

How to prepare for a job interview at NewDay Technology Limited

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
