We’re looking for a Data Engineering Manager who’s excited by the challenge of building world-class data platforms and leading a high-performing engineering team. If you thrive at the intersection of hands-on technical leadership, strategic thinking, and empowering engineers to do their best work, this is a role where you’ll make a real impact.

How you'll contribute

As our Data Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented data engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the scalable, high-quality data pipelines and models that power analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You’ll be bringing experience in Scala, Python, SQL, Snowflake, and DBT—and guiding engineers through complex challenges while setting the standards for engineering excellence. You’ll drive continuous improvement, champion best practices, and ensure our data is accurate, reliable, and performant. This role is central to shaping and delivering our data engineering roadmap. You’ll work closely with architects, analysts, and business leaders to ensure our data platforms evolve in line with strategic priorities and deliver tangible value.

As a people leader, you’ll provide clear direction, coaching, and performance management to your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Strong leadership, effective prioritisation, and clear communication will be key to steering delivery, managing risk, and upholding high standards of data quality and operational stability. If you’re passionate about building modern data ecosystems and enabling teams to deliver at scale, you’ll feel right at home here.

We're looking for these essential skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of building scalable pipelines, integrations, and transformations.
  • Demonstrated ability managing and leading data engineering teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Scala, Python, SQL, Snowflake, and DBT.
  • Deep understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a history of delivering innovative, practical data solutions.
  • Experience overseeing delivery across multiple initiatives, balancing technical quality with timely execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • High attention to detail with a dedication to data accuracy and quality.

Desirable skills

  • Experience crafting or scaling modern data platforms in a cloud-native environment.
  • Exposure to advanced orchestration, observability, or data quality tooling.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD for data engineering.
  • Experience operating within a regulated or production-critical environment.
