What You’ll Do
As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll be providing vital support to service users in Care homes. Your responsibilities include:
- Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care while supporting the wider clinical team.
- Carry out a range of clinical tasks in line with your training and competency, including taking observations, supporting wound care, collecting specimens, assisting with catheter and stoma care, and contributing to ongoing monitoring of patients’ physical and mental health.
- Work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement care plans, contribute to safe patient flow, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Supervise and support junior healthcare assistants, help with their induction and promote high standards of practice across the team.
- Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment, follow infection‑prevention procedures, report concerns promptly, and ensure equipment and supplies are well managed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, offering reassurance, promoting independence, and upholding confidentiality, equality, and dignity at all times.
- Contribute to health‑promotion activities and support patients with long‑term conditions, frailty, and end‑of‑life care, ensuring a compassionate and respectful approach throughout.

Qualifications
Right to work in the UK.
A minimum 6 months of paid UK care experience within the last 3 years, working in a Senior Healthcare Assistant role.
Proven experience managing a shift in a care home setting (Required).
SVQ Level 3 Qualification with proven experience in medication administration.
Registration: Applicants in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland will require the relevant registration e.g., SSSC, SCW, NISSC (not applicable in England).
Skills: Knowledge of care equipment and moving & handling.
