Pay Rate: Up to £17.99 per hour (including holiday pay)

What You’ll Do:

  • Providing vital support to service users in care homes.
  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting the wider clinical team.
  • Delivering compassionate personal care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring patients’ dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Carrying out a range of clinical tasks in line with your training and competency, including taking observations, supporting wound care, collecting specimens, assisting with catheter and stoma care, and contributing to ongoing monitoring of patients’ physical and mental health.
  • Working closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement care plans, contribute to safe patient flow, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Supervising and supporting junior healthcare assistants, helping with their induction, and promoting high standards of practice across the team.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment, following infection-prevention procedures, reporting concerns promptly, and ensuring equipment and supplies are well managed.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, offering reassurance, promoting independence, and upholding confidentiality, equality, and dignity at all times.
  • Contributing to health-promotion activities and supporting patients with long-term conditions, frailty, and end-of-life care, ensuring a compassionate and respectful approach throughout.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A minimum of 6 months of paid UK care experience within the last 3 years, working in a Senior Healthcare Assistant role.
  • Proven experience managing a shift in a care home setting (Required).
  • SVQ LEVEL 3 Qualification with proven experience in medication administration.
  • Registration: Applicants in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland will require the relevant registration e.g., SSSC, SCW, NISSC (not applicable in England).
