The Role
You will be responsible for the safe movement and management of trailers within the yard, carrying out vehicle checks, monitoring trailer temperatures and supporting loading and collection activities. You'll ensure compliance with transport, DEFRA and site procedures, maintain a safe and organised working environment and communicate effectively with drivers and colleagues to resolve issues and support day-to-day operations.
You will work within a clear legal framework including the Road Traffic Act 1988, Drivers' Hours Regulations and the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, with the full support and training of our team behind you.
Requirements
· HGV Class C+E Licence
· Valid Driver CPC
· 2+ years’ HGV/Shunting experience
· Completed Shunt/Tug Training
· Strong knowledge of Drivers' Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive
· Commitment to safety, compliance and professional standards
· Experience within temperature-controlled logistics is desirable but not essential
