We are seeking a Stock Control Assistant to join our team in Corby. This role is responsible for maintaining stock integrity and ensuring accurate inventory management on behalf of our customers. Acting as the primary point of contact for stock related enquiries, you will play a key role in investigating discrepancies, managing inventory records, and supporting operational excellence across the site.
Location: NewCold Corby Distribution Centre, Curver Way, Corby NN17 5XN.
Salary: £30,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience).
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off day shift (06:30 - 18:30).
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Investigating stock discrepancies, resolving inventory issues, and maintaining accurate stock records across a range of customer accounts.
- Acting as the first point of contact for customer stock enquiries, supporting order allocations, stock transfers, disposals, sample requests, stock blocking and release requests, and other inventory related activities.
- Carrying out detailed investigations into lost or misallocated stock using warehouse management systems and available tracking tools.
- Liaising with operational teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conducting regular stock checks and warehouse based investigations to ensure inventory accuracy and effective resolution of issues.
- Producing and maintaining stock reports, tracking trends in discrepancies and non-conformances, supporting audit activities, and ensuring that all stock adjustments, compliance checks, and customer specific requirements are managed accurately and efficiently.
- Working collaboratively across departments to help maintain stock integrity, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in a stock control, inventory management, warehouse administration, logistics or supply chain environment.
- Experience investigating stock discrepancies, analysing inventory data, and managing customer queries.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a customer focused approach.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working both in an office environment and within the warehouse when required to support stock investigations and inventory checks. The role will involve warehouse based activity, including entering freezer environments and supporting stock investigations, which may include accompanying MHE operations within the warehouse. Experience of warehouse management systems, stock auditing, inventory reconciliation, and operational reporting would be beneficial.
