Overview
We are seeking a Key User / IT Systems Specialist to join our team in Wakefield.
Acting as the vital operational and technical bridge between warehouse operations and IT systems, you will play a key role in supporting the technology and systems that keep our highly automated warehouse operating efficiently.
Working closely with IT Specialists, IT Managers and operational teams, you will oversee daily system operations, manage hardware configurations, administer site data and user setups, and troubleshoot automated warehouse processes. This varied role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with operational knowledge while supporting a wide range of warehouse management and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the day-to-day operation of our Warehouse Management System (MLS), including creating and managing inbound, outbound and mixing orders, facilitating order transfers to the Transport Management System (TMS), configuring XML outputs and maintaining barcode structures. You will monitor workload screens, Crontab functionality and associated algorithms, manage stock adjustments, pallet parameters and reason codes, and support specialised operational processes including detopping and picking.
The role includes configuring and installing laptops, workstations and site hardware, administering standard and RF user accounts, maintaining category relations and supporting the site's Access Control system, including security card administration and associated protocols.
You will monitor, diagnose and resolve system issues using specialist diagnostic tools, Maintenance IF screens and Dashboard error screens. You will log, track and manage incidents through Topdesk Case Management and utilise tools such as Agent Ransack to support system investigations and log analysis.
A key aspect of the role is developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of automated site control systems, including MFCS, C3 and CHUI, together with the reshuffle programme and associated opimisation algorithms. You will support all Radio Frequency (RF) processes and maintain an understanding of customer-specific operational and system requirements.
Working collaboratively across departments, you will help support efficient operations, effective system performance and continuous improvement across the site.

Requirements
We're looking for someone with a strong technical aptitude and proven experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), logistics software or similar operational IT systems.
Experience in user access management, hardware configuration and IT systems troubleshooting is highly desirable. Previous experience with helpdesk systems, such as Topdesk, and automated material handling or logistics software would be advantageous.
You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve technical and operational issues within a fast-paced environment.
A good understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations, including inbound, outbound, picking and stock control processes, would be beneficial. Experience within a warehouse, logistics or automated operational environment would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with the ability to bridge technical IT concepts and operational warehouse requirements, building strong working relationships across both operational and technical teams.
