About the vacancy:

  • Manage the daily plan via operators using relevant software, ensuring accurate resource allocation and updates.
  • Coordinate loads with the warehouse in line with the plan.
  • Manage operators to communicate delays to stakeholders.
  • Audit driver packs and ensure drivers are fully briefed before departure.
  • Monitor loads as a live event, managing delays to ensure customer delivery.
  • Proactively monitor transportation schedules to address potential issues.
  • Manage front desk administration and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage PODs and report issues to the line manager.
  • Interact with customers to address inquiries, provide assistance, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Produce daily shift reports and ensure comprehensive handovers.
  • Verify driver licenses for compliance.
  • Ensure routes comply with legal and safety regulations.
  • Complete sickness, absence, and return-to-work reports.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Complete incident reports and investigations, e.g., RTC, staff injuries, near misses.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of transport planning and operations.
  • Computer literacy, especially with transport software.

  • Good knowledge of UK geography and journey time estimation.
  • Initiative and determination to solve problems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and rapport-building ability.
  • Transport Manager CPC qualification is desirable.
