Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated individual to join our operations team as a Trainee European Planner. This role offers hands‑on experience in European road freight, short sea shipping, and customs documentation. You will have the opportunity to develop into a skilled planner with broad logistics expertise, supported by comprehensive on‑the‑job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of European road freight and short sea import/export shipments
- Assist with the preparation and management of customs and shipping documentation
- Monitor shipments, track progress, and provide updates to stakeholders
- Liaise with carriers, customers, and internal teams under supervision
- Gain exposure to deep sea, air freight, and multi-modal logistics operations
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in training to develop knowledge of customs compliance and international trade
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel within the UK
- Occasional overseas travel may be required as part of this role (to be discussed further at interview)
- GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above), or equivalent
- Motivated and ambitious, with a strong interest in logistics and freight forwarding
- Well organised, with good attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to learn and take on responsibility
- Interest in international trade, transport, or logistics
