We are seeking an Assistant Planner to support the smooth and efficient coordination of logistical activities across the operation. You will play a key role in planning and organising all necessary activities to ensure client orders are processed accurately and the logistical process runs seamlessly.
Location: Wakefield
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 06:00-18:00
Key Responsibilities
- Support the coordination and scheduling of orders using the warehouse management system.
- Work closely with the Planning Manager and wider planning team to ensure activities are completed in line with client and haulier agreements.
- Issue process orders to forklift truck drivers and pickers.
- Monitor schedules and make adjustments where required.
- Maintain daily communication with clients, hauliers, and their representatives regarding progress, priorities, anomalies, and operational issues.
- Identify and escalate issues to the Planning Manager.
- Assist investigations and adhoc customer restacks.
- Process administrative information relating to logistical activities.
- Monitor and manage the planning email inbox.
- Provide support across warehouse planning, export works, and customer communications.

Requirements
- Previous planning and customer service experience, ideally within a logistics or warehouse environment.
- Confident using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organisational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage changing priorities, and communicate effectively with clients, hauliers, and internal teams.
- A proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to support the wider planning operation.
