The Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Education Administrator to a full-time, fixed-term post for 12 months. You will join the SAgE Faculty Professional Services team based within the School of Computing. We are a world-class research-intensive university. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality. We play a leading role in economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England. Working as part of the Education Team, the postholder will contribute to the successful delivery of an excellent student and colleague experience. You will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective running of the school’s taught programmes where you will support students, academic colleagues, and education committees. Your duties will span the full student lifecycle from recruitment, registration, assessment, and progression to graduation. You will also be responsible for coordinating key academic processes with particular responsibility for the School’s placement activity.
We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills, which will help you relate to our students, academic colleagues, and senior stakeholders. You should also be adept in organising, prioritising, and managing time effectively to ensure the smooth delivery of education administration. You should have a keen eye for detail and look to identify and implement improvements wherever possible. Working with a variety of stakeholders, you will demonstrate initiative, efficiency and a willingness to be flexible to support the wider team. - Provide expert guidance to students and academic colleagues regarding standard and non-standard queries and requests
- Act as secretary for designated meetings and committees, including agenda preparation, circulation, producing bullet-point actions, and monitoring progress of actions
- Lead on the collation of university documentation and data collection for Education processes
- Support coordinated student activities such as external audits, student support on extenuating circumstances, Boards of Examiners processes, and inputting and uploading of student marks
- Supervise a team managing the allocation of duties and workload, where appropriate
- Provide support for school events such as student induction, student social events, and University and School visit days
