Are you passionate about photography, video and social media content? We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Media Assistant to provide hands-on support for NUSU's media and communications activity. This entry-level role focuses on capturing real-time, social-first content using both mobile devices and DSLR camera equipment. You will work closely with the Social Media Assistant, student officers, departments and campaigns to create engaging photography and short-form video that reflects the diversity and energy of our student community.

From Welcome Week and Elections to everyday student life, you will be out and about on campus capturing content as it happens, supporting campaigns, and contributing creative ideas for social platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Some evening work may be required to support events and activities.

About You

  • Experience and Knowledge: Education to degree level, undertaking studies in higher education, or equivalent is not required but would be beneficial. Relevant experience in photography and social media creation.
  • Skills and Attributes: Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator) software. Excellent communication skills including written English. Able to work on own initiative and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
