We’re looking for a passionate and knowledgeable football professional to help us nurture talent and support performance on and off the pitch. This role plays an important part in delivering high standards, supporting player development, and helping us create the best possible environment for success across the Club.

As a Sessional Coach (U13 Youth Development Phase), you will assist in implementing the Academy coaching curriculum and contribute to the development of players within the Youth Development Phase. Working with players at U13 level, you'll help create a challenging, engaging and high-performance learning environment that supports technical, tactical, physical and psychosocial development. You’ll work under the guidance of the Lead Phase Coach and Head of Coach Development, ensuring sessions are delivered in line with the Academy's coaching and playing philosophies.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the planning, preparation and delivery of engaging, challenging and technically accurate coaching sessions for U13 Youth Development Phase players.
  • Effectively coach, mentor and develop players within the Youth Development Phase.
  • Lead coaching sessions and matchday activities when required.
  • Implement the Academy playing philosophy and coaching principles consistently.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to support player development objectives.
  • Assist with player review meetings, individual learning plans and progress tracking to support long-term player development.
  • Support team and squad selection discussions ahead of fixtures.
  • Ensure coaching, game-time and player development records are accurately maintained in line with EPPP requirements.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture that supports players as they transition through the Youth Development Phase.

Essential criteria:

  • UEFA B Licence (FA Advanced Coaching Licence).
  • FA Safeguarding qualification.
  • FA Basic First Aid for Sport qualification.
  • FA Licensed Coaches Club membership.
  • Experience working with players within the professional game.
  • Excellent communication, listening and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of EPPP and the audit process.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, welfare and equality practices.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Apple software packages.
