About the role
As Security Manager (Training Ground & Academy), you will manage all aspects of site security across Newcastle United’s Training Ground and Academy. This includes access control, accreditation, CCTV management and leading a team of Security Officers, ensuring a safe, secure and compliant environment for staff, players, visitors and stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and efficiently resource the Training Ground & Academy Security Team, including maintaining a resilient pool of trained temporary workers.
- Ensure site security SOPs are adhered to, regularly reviewed and updated.
- Act as the first point of contact for any out‑of‑hours security issues or incidents.
- Manage access control and accreditation processes across both sites.
- Oversee CCTV usage and radio maintenance for the Security Team.
- Lead performance management, attendance, appraisals and continuous professional development for direct reports, ensuring DBS and qualification requirements are met.
- Undertake investigations and hearings relating to misconduct or grievance cases.
- Carry out security pre‑visits on behalf of the Academy.
- Act as a role model for club values and behaviours, leading and challenging your team accordingly.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
